Multiple Sclerosis Center

The center's goal is to consistently offer:

• Prompt, courteous response to patients by trained MS professionals
• World-class neurological evaluation and treatment
• New disease-modifying therapeutics for all phases of MS
• New therapies to improve both symptoms and function of patients with MS
• Better imaging measures of MS to improve decision making in care
• Genomic and genetic investigations to predict disease activity and response to therapy

Patients receive comprehensive and coordinated services by:

• Neurologists with international reputations in MS research and care
• Nurse practitioners and nurses dedicated exclusively to MS care
• Neuro-ophthalmologists and urologists with specific expertise in MS
• Neuropsychologists with expertise in the evaluation and treatment of cognitive and psychological difficulties in MS
• Physical, occupational and speech therapists who coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation

The Baird Center offers specific clinical services in:

• Spasticity management
• Cognitive assessment and treatment
• Osteoporosis prevention and treatment
• Infusion services for all medications used in MS, including chemotherapy
• High resolution MRI technology including quantitative MRI measures of brain
• Electrophysiologic neuro-diagnosis
