Family Planning Center

The Kaleida Health Family Planning Center (formerly Deaconess Family Planning Center) is a State and Federal funded program that has been funded for over 40 years. With a dedicated staff, the Family Planning Center provides quality birth control services to both men and women of child bearing age. Family planning allows you to determine the number of children you and your family want, space between pregnancies to allow for better infant and maternal health, prevent unwanted pregnancies, and help reduce infant and maternal mortality rates. In addition to providing birth control services, we also provide medical, educational and counseling services in the areas of sexually transmitted infections, which include HIV counseling, testing and referral.

All medical care is provided by Nurse Practitioners and our Medical Director. Preventative health screening is a routine part of every visit. All services are completely confidential. Fees are based on patients’ income and number of dependents. Medicaid Managed Care and most major insurances are accepted. Teenagers without insurance are treated at no charge. (See Fees/Insurance for more information). The Kaleida Health Family Planning Center serves anyone, without regard to sex, race, nationality, religious affiliation, or physical or behavioral disability.

The Center has an ongoing community outreach program, which strives to inform various age groups about family planning and related topics. The Center’s highly trained professional staff is a valuable resource providing educational programs to any organization, which includes but is not limited to schools, churches, community agencies, etc. See Educational Services for more information.

**Due to specific regulations, the Family Planning Center cannot accept new patients who have had a tubal ligation or hysterectomy.
