Kaleida Health Named to Most Wired List
Kaleida Health was named to the 2017 nation’s list of Most Wired® hospitals and health systems by the American Hospital Association’s Health Care Forum. In addition, Kaleida Health was one of three hospitals to receive the 2017 Innovator Award for its Find Your Way feature on the mobile app, which helps visitors navigate the facility with floor maps, walking directions and blue-dot functionality using a Bluetooth beacon infrastructure.
Kaleida Health and its affiliate, Upper Allegheny Health System, were the only two Western New York health systems named to this year’s Most Wired list.
The recognition is the result of the 19th Annual Health Care’s Most Wired® survey, which is an industry-standard benchmark study examining how organizations leverage information technology to improve performance for value-based healthcare in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality and safety, and clinical integration.
According to the survey, Most Wired hospitals are using smart phones, telehealth and remote monitoring to create more ways for patients to access health care services and capture health information. These hospitals are also using sophisticated IT monitoring systems to detect patient privacy breaches, monitor for malicious activities or policy violations and produce real-time analysis of security alerts.
Most Wired hospitals are transforming care delivery with knowledge gained from data and analytics. They are investing in analytics to support new delivery models and effective decision-making and training clinicians on how to use analytics to improve quality, provide access and control costs.
Detailed results of the survey and study can be found in the July issue of H&HN. For a full list of winners, visit www.hhnmag.com.
