Einas Batarseh, MD, Wins First Place at NYACP Resident and Medical Student Forum

Congratulations to Einas Batarseh, MD, resident physician at Hertel-Elmwood Medicine Center, for winning first place in the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians (NYACP) Quality, Advocacy and Public Policy Category at the NYACP Resident and Medical Student Forum on May 27. Over 280 abstracts were submitted and 117 were invited to the poster competition to present their work.

Abstracts submitted for this broad category had to address issues of health systems improvement in the areas of public policy, advocacy, patient safety, quality improvement, wellness and value based care.

The purpose of Dr. Batarseh’s study, titled “Strategies to Address Healthcare Disparity in Colorectal Cancer Screening”, is to increase Colorectal Cancer screening in patients aged 50-75 from a baseline of 33% to 40% within 12 months at a Primary Care Clinic.

As winner, Dr. Batarseh received an expense paid trip to the American College of Physicians (ACP) National Competition in San Diego scheduled for April 27-29, 2023.
