Kaleida Health has joined several other major national organizations and government entities as a participating (voting) member of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO/Technical Committee 176. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. ISO is a nongovernmental organization that comprises standards bodies from more than 160 countries, with one standards body representing each member country.
This TAG is a national committee that drives and transmits quality management and quality assurance standards and requirements as well as ISO quality concepts, terminology, quality systems and supporting technology. U.S. TAGs are also responsible for deciding on the delegates and experts to represent the U.S. at ISO committee meetings.
As a participating member of TAG, Kaleida Health will lead the development of quality standards at a national and international stage, helping to shape the industry, gain standards knowledge, mitigate risk, network with both industry and governmental entities, and see what’s coming in terms of requirements before they become official national or international requirements.
Other participating TAG members include:
- Booz Allen
- Caterpillar, Inc.
- Lockheed Martin
- Northrup Grumman
- GE Healthcare
Kristen Bies, senior director of accreditation services, represents Kaleida Health on the TAG.
