A Note of Thanks
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic fundamentally has changed our lives in immeasurable ways. Instead of being greeted with a friendly smile and hello from co-workers, we get muffled words behind yellow masks. In reading and listening to the news each day, it is a truly frightening time and many of our friends and family are facing health and economic hardships. The disruption taking place in our community affirms what I know to be true— that the work you do on a daily basis is more important now than ever before.
The need for caring is something that never changes and is always deeply felt. Each day I am touched by the miracles performed by our staff in the small things they do to show people how much they care. Your care and support mean even more to residents who are missing their own families right now. Each day as I walk through the facility, I am smiling knowing that our staff are caring and meeting the needs for our residents.
We have faced enormous challenges in the past, but today we must respond with courage, resolve, and compassion in continuing to care for our residents and patients in their time of need. When we are faced with challenges that may seem insurmountable, we must remember to look to each other for support because we will only be able to get through this time together. For your sacrifices, your generosity, your expertise and your talents, you have my deepest gratitude. I am so proud to work beside you in service to the most vulnerable among us who entrust us with their care.
