Diamond Named Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Kaleida Health

Released: 12/12/2019

Robert Diamond has been named senior vice president and chief information officer for Kaleida Health.

Diamond will provide leadership for Kaleida Health’s information technology (IT) team, overseeing strategic and tactical planning, plus development and coordination of the IT platform. He will also help lead the IT related integration for Great Lakes Health, including ECMC and our affiliate partners.

Highlighting that work will be the Great Lakes Integrated Medical Record (GLIMR) project.  Diamond will continue to move that initiative forward, optimizing Kaleida Health’s existing electronic medical record (EMR) while expanding the EMR to be used across other Great Lakes Health entities.

Diamond joins Kaleida Health from Nuvance Health in Lagrangeville, NY, where he served as senior vice president and chief information officer. With nearly 15,000 employees and an annual revenue of $3 billion, Nuvance Health includes seven hospitals, two multi-physician medical practices, sub-acute providers, medical school affiliations, and multiple residency programs.

While at Nuvance Health, Diamond oversaw the organization’s $170+ million Cerner implementation project that consolidated multiple health information and subsystems over to a standardized Cerner Millennium instance.

Prior to his tenure at Nuvance Health, Diamond served for 11 years as senior vice president and chief information officer at Health Quest Systems Inc., a predecessor hospital system in Dutchess County that became part of Nuvance Health.

Diamond received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the New York State University at New Paltz and his Master of Health Administration from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is a member of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS), Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), Health Information Managers Society (HIMSS), Health Facilities Managers Association (HFMA), and College of Healthcare Management Executives (CHIME).
