Pollino-Tanner Named Senior Director of Clinical Education and Professional Practice
Julie Pollino-Tanner, RN, MA, was named senior director of clinical education and professional practice.
In her new role, she will report to Cheryl Klass, RN, chief nurse executive, and will work closely with the chief nursing officers and other nursing leaders to ensure high quality, safe patient care, exemplary nursing practice and the achievement of the overall goals of the organization. She will play a significant role in establishing effective relationships with schools of nursing to provide a pipeline of future nurses, and fostering an environment that emphasizes learning, achievement and nursing research.
Pollino-Tanner will be leading the talented team that provides clinical education and programming to more than 8,000 staff members at Kaleida Health and coordinates clinical students and onsite clinical rotations for upwards of 1,000 students per semester.
Pollino-Tanner most recently served as nurse manager in the Clinical Education Division. She joined Kaleida Health in April 2016 as nurse manager of orthopedics at Buffalo General Medical Center. Prior to April 2016, she was a patient care director at Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Other nursing management positions include New York University (NYU) Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases and NYU Langone Medical Center where she started her nursing career.
She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing and Master in Nursing Administration from New York University, and she is currently enrolled at the University at Buffalo in a post master’s certificate program in education. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Association for Nursing Professional Development, National Association of Orthopedic Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau International, Hillman Alumni Nursing Network and Project Management Institute.
