New Officers and Board Members Appointed to the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation

BUFFALO, NY -- The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation recently appointed several Western New York community leaders as officers and new members of its Board of Directors.

Cash Cunningham was named Chairman, Board of Directors.  A successful businessman and long-time advocate and volunteer for Women & Children’s Hospital, Cunningham, a Williamsville resident, is the owner of Cash Realty & Auctions in Buffalo, New York.  He served as a member of the Board since 1999 and as the Board treasurer since 2002.

Other officers named to the Women & Children’s Hospital Board of Directors include:

Catherine F. Schweitzer, resident of Buffalo, of The Baird Foundation, was named Vice Chairman, Board of Directors

Anthony J. Colucci, III, resident of Buffalo, of Colucci & Gallaher, was named Treasurer, Board of Directors.

Alison C. Derrick, resident of Buffalo and community volunteer, was named Secretary, Board of Directors.

New Board members to the Women & Children’s Hospital Foundation include the following:

Kenneth Eckhert, M.D., resident of East Aurora, of the Kaleida Breast Care Center

James, Foster, M.D., resident of Snyder, Chief, Anesthesia, Kaleida Health

Richard J. Leugemors, resident of Snyder, of the Buffalo Athletic Club

Lorry Rich, resident of Buffalo and community volunteer

Paula Salvatore, resident of Clarence, of Salvatore’s Italian Gardens

C.J. Vallone, resident of Lancaster, of DeVal Safety

Ann Nicholson Wright, resident of Clarence. Merrill Lynch

The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation raised a record-setting $5 million in 2003.  In recent years, the Foundation helped reach several milestones for Women & Children’s Hospital, including the completion of the $7.8 million, state-of-the-art Variety Club of Buffalo Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, the establishment of the Kaleida Breast Care Center, and the renovation and expansion of the $2.8 million Emergency Department.

As part of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) alliance, one hundred percent of funds raised by national CMN sponsors in Western New York are dedicated to Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.  Children’s Miracle Network is the alliance of premier children’s hospitals in North America and serves its hospitals by raising funds through corporate sponsors and events to support life-saving equipment, charity care and research.

The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo is the regional center for comprehensive and state-of-the-art pediatric and women’s health services in Western New York and beyond.
