Oishei Children’s Hospital Photos Selected for National Exhibit
Three photographs by Joe Cascio, medical photographer, were selected for inclusion in the 2019 Children’s Hospitals Photo Exhibit, the result of a national competition by the Children’s Hospital Association.
Cascio’s photos were chosen from nearly 400 images submitted by over 50 children’s hospitals across the county. The online exhibit of 50 winning photographs was curated by a panel of distinguished judges including renowned photographer and author, Anne Geddes, as well as representatives from The Exposure Group, Parents magazine, National Geographic Kids and the Children’s Hospital Association.
Showcasing the ways our nation’s children’s hospitals help all children thrive, the exhibit includes stories behind the photos, allowing viewers to read first-hand accounts from patients, parents, doctors and other health care providers. The exhibit communicates the hope, compassion and resilience shared by the children and families served by children’s hospitals and the expert health care providers who deliver that specialized care. From healthy kids to children with rare and complex medical conditions, the exhibit celebrates children’s hospitals’ commitment to the health of all children.
From the 50 online exhibit photos, a “Top 10” collection of extraordinary images was selected for large-format printing and traveling display. Two photos from Oishei Children’s Hospital were chosen as part of the “Top 10” and will tour the country with a stop in Washington, D.C. from June 24 -28, 2019. Additionally, the exhibit will travel around the country for two years displayed at children’s hospitals and partnering organizations in support of a wide variety of outreach efforts and events.
