Connecting Kids to Coverage
In 2013, Kaleida Health received a Connecting Kids to Coverage Outreach and Enrollment Grant from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to enroll uninsured children in New York State’s Medicaid program and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and keep them enrolled for as long as they qualify.
Through this two year grant, Kaleida Health, in partnership with Buffalo Public Schools, Kaleida Health School Based Health Centers and Kaleida Health School Health Services (school nursing program), provides school-based outreach and education.
Facilitated enrollers from Kaleida Health work to increase participation in Medicaid and CHIP and help consumers navigate new changes in the application and renewal process through the New York State Marketplace implemented by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Parents and community health organizations can learn more about Kaleida Health’s facilitated enrollment staff, school locations, contact information and available hours using the links to the left.
