The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) and the Erie County Opiate Epidemic Task Force are announcing the next three months of trainings to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and use Narcan (naloxone) to reverse an opioid overdose.

The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation received a $630,000 grant from The Children's Guild Foundation to support outpatient services for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism, at Oishei Children's Hospital. 

A new paper examined the long-term outcome among children newly diagnosed with cancer who had taken part in clinical trials focused on dexrazoxane, a drug administered to pediatric cancer patients in order to curb the cardiotoxicity of a key chemotherapy drug.

On November 1, Eric Wood held his annual Flights and Bites event to raise money for The Evan Wood Fund at Oishei Children’s Hospital. The $180,000 raised will support kids with complex medical conditions or require ongoing treatment in the Buffalo area.

Last year, over $1 million was raised from the Western New York community in support of Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, and his grandmother’s passing, Patricia Allen. On October 26, we unveiled the Patricia Allen Pediatric Recovery Wing to Josh Allen on the hospital’s tenth floor and his family joined virtually.

This Veteran’s Day, we chose to highlight a veteran who is also an inspiring, long-standing donor to The Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation. Veteran Dick Sanders and his wife Marilyn have raised over $33,000 for children’s hospital over the last 40 years.
