Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a central nervous system disease, in which the body’s immune system attacks the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves.
Severity of symptoms can vary greatly and range from numbness in extremities to blindness or paralysis.
For the treatment of adults with MS, Buffalo General Medical Center is home to the Baird Multiple Sclerosis Center of the Jacobs Neurological Institute (JNI).
The JNI’s Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Center operates out of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
