Advanced Orthopedic & Spine Center
Buffalo General's orthopedic suite (pictured right) creates a quieter, more relaxing environment for patients. Located on the 16th floor, each patient room offers large windows that provide plenty of light and breathtaking views of the city. Our seven semi-private rooms and 28 private rooms feature amenities, softer lighting, hotel-like furnishings and new floors with a hardwood look. Accomodations are also available for a family member to stay overnight with the patient. We hope to deliver a very good experience that you can feel good about recommending to your friends and family.
Computerized navigational equipment for the most precise fitting of artificial knee joints, specialized lighting, audio/video integration, touch screen paging system and a variety of clinical equipment.
The orthopedic staff is specially trained in orthopedics, with several decades of combined experience. The team regularly receives the latest training on new techniques and technology. Full-time orthopedic nurse practitioners are on-staff and dedicated to post-operative care.
Patient Educational Classes
Comprehensive pre-operative classes are held to ensure that patients have all the information necessary for successful surgical and rehabilitation results. You'll meet your healthcare
team, visit the orthopedic suite and have an opportunity to become familar with the environment you will be recovering in.
On-site physical therapy, coupled with access to the city's newest, most modern subacute rehabilitation facility-HighPointe on Michigan, as well as in-home physical therapy through our partner the Visiting Nursing Association of WNY, Inc.-ensures that you have the right form of therapy for your individual needs during and after hospitalization.
Physical therapy suite
Located just steps away from orthopedic patient rooms, the new physical therapy suite is bright, cheerful room that is equipped with everything needed to start patients on the road to recovery.
Buffalo General Medical Center offers the following parking options for your visitors while you are hospitalized:
- Friendly valet parking for a fee when available
- Metered parking located along Ellicott, High and North Streets
- Above-ground flat lot on the corner of Ellicott and High Streets
- City parking ramp on the corner of Ellicott and Goodrich Streets
