Photo of Diane G. Schwartz, MLS, AHIP BUFFALO, N.Y. (Wednesday, June 23, 2004) - Diane G. Schwartz, MLS, AHIP, director of Kaleida Health Libraries and Archives since 2000, was inducted as a Medical Library Association (MLA) Fellow during the Association's Annual Meeting held in Washington, D.C.

A respected leader in her profession, Schwartz is known for her publishing expertise and has authored or coauthored more than twenty articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as several book chapters.

Schwartz has presented numerous papers at the local, regional, national and international levels. She currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the Medical Library Association and is a distinguished member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP).

Schwartz served on the MLA Board of Directors from 1997-2000 and was elected to MLA's nominating committee in 2002.

Schwartz is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Library and Information Studies and a Research Associate Professor of Medicine and Family Medicine at the University at Buffalo (UB). MLA, a nonprofit, educational organization, is a leading advocate for health sciences information professionals with more than 4,700 members worldwide.
