Open House at DeGraff Hospital Highlights State-of-the-Art Imaging Services

2002

Buffalo, NY, May 15, 2002 – An open house and tours of the newest in imaging technology are slated for Wednesday, May 22 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, 445 Tremont Street, North Tonawanda.

Thanks to recent equipment upgrades and additions, DeGraff Imaging Services offers the latest in diagnostic and treatment technology as well as physicians on the cutting edge of their specialties. In addition, recently added services at DeGraff now enable many patients to receive services on site, without the need for transfer to another facility.

Tours of the imaging department will include:

  • A spacious new mammography suite and equipment.

  • The nuclear medicine department's state-of-the-art Millennium VG camera, which performs coronary and bone scan imaging as well as procedures for chemotherapy patients and lung scans to diagnose blood clots.

  • The fully equipped special procedures room featuring an OEC C-arm, used for disease treatment and diagnosis.

  • The CT room with a high-speed spiral scanner, which performs "head to toe" testing, including bone densitometry to detect osteoporosis; chest scans to test for pulmonary embolism; head scans to test for seizure abnormality and detect injuries; abdominal and pelvic scans, and three-dimensional extremity scans to diagnose bone tumors. It provides an invaluable tool for early detection, often making a wider range of treatment options available to the patient.

  • Comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

Part of Kaleida Health, DeGraff and its imaging services staff follow a philosophy of continually striving toward higher levels of service, driven by a dedication to excellence and quality. The open house will acquaint potential customers and hospital neighbors to the equipment and enable them to meet staff and specialists.

Refreshments will be served, and a special prize drawing will be offered. For more information, please call 690-2250.
