Buffalo, NY, Jan. 30, 2002 -- Advanced Home Care of Western New York, Inc., the sister home health agency of the Visiting Nursing Association (VNA) of Western New York, Inc., has changed its name to VNA Home Care Services, Inc.

The VNA of Western New York, Inc., is the oldest in the country, founded in 1885. It provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, medical social work, home health aide and nutrition services to both adults and children. A Medicare-certified agency accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), VNA of Western New York has offices in Erie, Chautauqua, Allegany, Niagara, and Genesee counties.

VNA Home Care Services, Inc., is a New York State licensed home care agency providing home infusion pharmacy services, nursing, rehabilitation therapy, respiratory care and equipment, personal care, breast pumps and personal emergency response systems.

"The two agencies work hand in hand and we often have a VNA skilled caregiver in the home in concert with our licensed services," explained Larry Zielinski, president of both agencies. "The VNA has a 117 year history of serving this community and is extremely well-known. This name change will enable us to market all our services, leveraging the already high awareness levels of the VNA."
