Dine N' Discover Program to Reveal 'How to 2000
NORTH TONAWANDA, NY, Nov. 6 - "How to Survive the Holidays and Still Fit in Your Pants!" is expected to offer holiday laughs and great tips during the Dine N' Discover program set for Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. in DeGraff Community Center, 139 Division St. Dine N' Discover is an informative dinner and discussion program of The McLaughlin Center (TMC) for Senior Wellness of Kaleida Health. Adults 55 and older are welcome to attend. Sharon Lawrence, R.D., CDN, president, Nutrition Dynamics in Tonawanda, will talk about how to cope with the triple threat of the holidays - the temptation to overeat, increased stress and less time for exercise. Ms. Lawrence will share strategies for enjoying favorite seasonal treats and socializing without putting on additional pounds. Ms. Lawrence is a recognized leader in nutrition education and health promotion. She has more than 25 years experience as a registered dietitian/nutritionist specializing in weight management and wellness. She has received numerous awards for her fun and innovative wellness programs including Lite 'n Up, Power Eating for Health & Vitality, Better Bones 101 & 102 and Be a Fat Detective. She also is a Special Studies Faculty Member at Chautauqua Institution, an Adjunct Professor at Buffalo State College and a Consultant for the New York State Healthy Heart Program. She has received numerous awards for her fun and innovative wellness programs. Dinner includes a harvest salad, chicken in orange sauce, rice, green bean medley, rolls, chocolate cake and beverages.
Cost is $8 for TMC members and $9 for non-members. Pre-paid reservations are

Community Blue will cover two Dine 'N Discover programs per year.
