Kaleida Health Is Co-Sponsor of Hispanic Health Fair 2001 As part of its Community Wellness 2001 series of health fairs, Kaleida Health is a co-sponsor of the 11th annual Hispanic Health Fair planned for this Saturday (June 30) from noon to 5 p.m. outside of West Side Community Services, 161 Vermont St., Buffalo. Health screenings and information, food and music will be among the highlights of the free, public event. West Side Community Services also is event co-sponsor. Kaleida Health participants in the event include Project Reach, which will provide information, counseling and testing for HIV/AIDS and Columbus Community Health Center's Niagara Family Medicine Center which will offer glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings. These screenings will be conducted inside West Side Community Services. Other Kaleida participants will provide information and displays and will be represented under the large tent outside. These services include High Street Prescription Center, Patient Financial Services, Deaconess Center Family Planning, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pediatric Dental Center, Need a Doctor? physician referral service, and Buffalo Community Health. Among the many other community organizations taking part in the health fair are Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Erie County Health Department, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Hispanics United of Buffalo, American Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, Community Music School, Child and Family Services, Masonic Child ID program, Alzheimers Association of WNY, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of WNY, AIDS Community Services and Independent Health, Buffalo Fire Department, Erie County Sheriff’s Department and Niagara Mohawk.
A Community Music School Neighborhood Concert featuring Le Krema is set for 1 to 2:30 p.m., and Los Caribes will entertain later in the afternoon.
