Newborns in Need Donates Handmade Care Packages

Updated: 7/3/2014
Ann Maghran, Family Centered Care Coordinator, Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, delivers a Newborns in Need care package to a new mom and her baby.

The birth of a new child is an exciting experience for a family, but it can also be very stressful when in the midst of health or economic crisis. To aid families and infants during this time, non-profit charity Newborns in Need donates essential baby care items to hospitals, homeless shelters, and any organizations that provide for the needs of premature and newborn babies that are sick or in crisis.

Newborns in Need’s latest act of charity comes in the form of an amazing donation to Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. Volunteers from the organization have put together 12 packages containing diapers, pacifiers, blankets, quilts, clothes, socks, hats, and hygiene products. These items were all either lovingly handmade or donated so that families have one less worry during a joyful time that can also be overwhelming.

It is incredibly encouraging to see community partners join us to help the women and children that we have the privilege of serving. This is the second time we have received care packages from Newborns in Need, and we look forward to continuing this partnership that has already comforted dozens of local families.
