Daisy Troop 39500 donated over 700 books to the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Family Resource Center on August 19, as well as some stuffed animals for our patient Welcome Bag program. The girls used left over funds from cookie sales to purchase the items.

The daughters of Tim Graves, President of Superior Contracting, Inc. dressed up as minions Stuart and Dave from the movie Despicable Me and made their way through the hospital on August 29 bringing smiles, laughter and lots of entertainment to both patients and staff.

The Western New York community will once again come together in support of the Hunter’s Hope Foundation during the annual Every Step Walk for Universal Newborn Screening. In anticipation of the Walk, 500 burp cloths, imprinted with the ‘Every Step’ logo, were donated to Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo for distribution to all newborn babies throughout the months of August and September.

Tasty summer fun was delivered to Women & Children’s Hospital on August 13 when local business Ice Creamcycle, backed by generous Western New Yorkers, sent two of its special ice cream-delivering bicycles to deliver free ice cream to excited patients.

UB|MD Pediatrics is pleased to announce the introduction of a new Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. The division will be led by three highly experienced physicians who share the same goal of providing compassionate care for patients suffering from cardiac conditions and congenital heart disease, beginning in utero and lasting into adulthood.

Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo (WCHOB) continues to promote the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding through participation in World Breastfeeding Week. With the message of “Breastfeeding: A Winning Goal for Life!” a diverse group of faculty members advocated the healthy practice at an informational booth in WCHOB’s lobby on August 6.
