Family Centered Care Programs at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo include the new FamilyResourceCenter that offers families of patients a comfortable place to access helpful information pertaining to an inpatient admission or other hospital visit. This center has been implemented largely due to the generous support from the Family Advisory Council, a group of families collaborating with hospital staff and participating as partners of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. The main principals of this council are to help families and to promote Patient and Family Centered Care as an approach to health care that recognizes that the family is the center of the patient’s lives both in and out of the hospital setting. Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, a Kaleida Health facility and teaching hospital for the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, is the regional center for comprehensive and state-of-the-art pediatric, neonatal, perinatal and obstetrical services in Western New York and beyond.
