"The KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon, and those in our community who support it, have had an immeasurably positive impact on the lives of countless children and their families throughout Western New York," said Allegra Jaros, chief operating officer, Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. "On behalf of these families, I am very thankful to Janet, Nick and Wease along with the entire team at KISS 98.5 and Entercom Radio who worked tirelessly throughout the entire two-day event filled with compelling and often emotional stories of patients with their families, physicians and other caregivers at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo."
The KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon is coordinated with the Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for local children’s hospitals across North America. One hundred percent of the proceeds generated during this Radiothon will benefit Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
Proceeds from the Radiothon will go toward the construction of a new neurosurgery operating room at the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. The pediatric neurosurgery program at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo includes the only full time, fellowship-trained pediatric neurosurgeon in this region, Veetai Li, MD, clinical associate professor of neurosurgery and chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
The vision for the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is to be recognized as the innovator, the highest quality, highest value provider and partner, and the regional referral center for women and children’s health care for Kaleida Health, in Western New York and beyond. The John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is scheduled to be opened by early 2016. For more information about the physician-led plans for the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, please go online at www.wchob.org/oishei.
