Local Kohl's department stores through its Kohl's Cares for Kids program presented $168,094 to support childhood obesity prevention programs of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
These funds will help Women & Children Hospital of Buffalo with outreach to local day care centers, local Buffalo schools, health fairs and community events by providing educational materials for children and their families about healthy eating habits and the benefits of physical activity.
In addition, Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo will collect pre- and post data in selected day care centers and implement more extensive education to these centers to measure the benefits of the program led by Teresa Quattrin, MD, UB Distinguished Professor, A Conger Goodyear Professor and Chair, Department of Pediatrics, State University of New York at Buffalo, and Pediatrician-in-Chief at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo
Kohl’s Cares for Kid's Program provides education initiatives in communities nationwide with over a decade of dedication and millions of dollars raised to support injury prevention, immunization and nutrition programs as well as scholarships and cause merchandise to give kids a happier and healthier future. To date, the program has raised more than $700,000 for Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
