Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital Receives AAGL Accreditation as a Leading Provider of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital is pleased to announce that it has received national AAGL accreditation recognizing the hospital as a leading provider of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in WNY.
AAGL is the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and is a leader in the minimally invasive gynecology field. AAGL accreditation means that the hospital offers women the highest quality of healthcare services and functions under the AAGL vision to, “Serve women by advancing the safest and most efficacious diagnostic and therapeutic techniques that afford less invasive treatments for gynecologic conditions through the integration of clinical practice, research, innovation, and dialogue.”
AAGL recognition requires the hospital to demonstrate the highest levels of educational training based on quality and patient safety parameters. AAGL rigorously evaluates the overall hospital surgical program and re-evaluates the hospital on an annual basis to ensure all standards adopted are maintained. This accreditation distinguishes Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital’s Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery program from others while validating its commitment to the highest standards of healthcare quality that are competitive with national standards.
“The current gynecology fellowship program at Millard Suburban offers practical hands-on clinical experience with the latest technology that defines the direction of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery,” said Pankaj Singhal, MD, MS, FACOG, Director of Robotic Surgery at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital; Associate Professor of OB/GYN and Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive & Robotic Surgery at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. “The AAGL accreditation ensures that our physicians are practicing the safest and most effective procedures with the least invasive treatments for women with gynecologic conditions.”
The hospital has received a one year accreditation (the maximum possible) and offers among the best providers of Gynecology in the United States to WNY. Physicians George T. Danakas, MD, FACOG, and Mehmet Erk, MD, FACOG, both Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Clinical Assistant Professors with SUNY at Buffalo, along with Dr. Singhal lead the partnership with the University in providing clinical proctoring that fulfills the AAGL accreditation guidelines. The prestigious accreditation will continue to draw top notch candidates to the medical school and to the hospital to practice medicine.
