Pediatric Nursing Scholarship Established In Memory of Sandra F. Lippes at Women & Children’s Hospital
Prominent Business Leader and Attorney, Gerald Lippes, Attends the Announcement
Gerald Lippes, a prominent attorney, businessman and advocate for Western New York, will help announce the Sandra F. Lippes Pediatric Nursing Scholarship in memory of his wife and established by his many friends and colleagues to advance the education and training of nurses specializing in pediatrics at Women & Children’s Hospital.
The announcement of the Sandra F. Lippes Pediatric Nursing Scholarship will include Gerald Lippes, William D. McGuire, Chief Executive Officer of Kaleida Health, and Cheryl Klass, President of Women & Children’s Hospital, during a reception on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Richard and Pat Fors, 44 Waterfront Circle in Buffalo.
“Sandra and Gerald Lippes have done so much for Women & Children Hospital and for our entire community,” said Cash Cunningham, Chairman, Women & Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are honored to be able to continue to benefit area families in Sandra’s memory as this scholarship helps nurses deliver the best possible care available for our children in need.”
The annual scholarship winner will be chosen by Sandra and Gerald’s three children, Adam, David and Tracy with the help of nursing and administrative leadership at Women & Children’s Hospital.
The Sandra F. Lippes Scholarship will award one pediatric nursing scholarship per academic year up to $10,000. Criteria for awarding the annual scholarship are based solely on financial need. Those eligible include current Women & Children’s Hospital employed operating room technicians, licensed practical nurses or registered nurses working to attain pediatric nurse practitioner degree.
The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, a Kaleida Health facility, is the regional center for comprehensive and state-of-the-art pediatric, perinatal and women’s health services in Western New York and beyond.
