Congressman Higgins Visits to Learn More about Plans on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus

Updated: 4/17/2012
Congressman Brian Higgins (far left) learns about Women & Children’s Hospital plans on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus

Congressman Brian Higgins was hosted by physician and administrative leadership at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo to inform him about the importance of physician-led plans on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

The Congressman and other elected officals have recently visited Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo to also discuss the application for $30 million in state funding in an effort to help accommodate the physician-led plan to build a new hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC).  The grant was filed under the state’s HEAL-NY Phase 21 “Restructuring Initiatives in Medicaid Redesign.”

Anyone with questions or comments about the physician-led plans for Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC) can submit them online at www.wchob.org/bnmc by calling (716) 878-1855.

This web site also includes the most current update on plans for the new hospital and ambulatory care center along with an overview of these projects, of the physician-led steering committee and of its vision and goals.  Lastly, it provides a detailed approach to this project taken by Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott of Boston, MA, one of the country's top pediatric healthcare architects selected to design the new, state-of-the-art and free-standing Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
