Kaleida Health is striving to make sure employees are engaged as true success can only be achieved by forging a strong partnership with our workforce.

Strategic Communication TeamStrategic Communication Teams

Strategic Communication Teams were convened as part of a Kaleida-wide internal communication strategy. Team members at each site take the “pulse” of the workplace and assess the effectiveness of messages and quality improvements. Representing multiple disciplines, different shifts, various job titles, the group offers open and honest feedback to site and corporate administration.
“The SCT is your opportunity for the average worker to communicate their concerns and thoughts to upper management.”
—Larry Kipler
Pharmacy Technician, WCHOB

Strategic Communication TeamTown Hall Meetings

Each Kaleida Health site’s administrative team holds regularly scheduled Town Hall Meetings to keep employees informed of both Kaleida Health wide and location specific happenings.  Each site makes accommodations to reach the largest number of employees. For example, at Larkin, the Town Hall meeting is held twice so that half of a department can attend each session. At Millard Fillmore Gates and Buffalo General Medical Centers meetings are recorded and placed on KaleidaTV so that employees can watch the meeting from their computers.

Roadtrips

The Kaleida Health Executive Team committed to engaging employees across all Kaleida Health locations. Visiting site manager forums allows the staff to hear fist hand the latest Kaleida Health happenings and directly ask senior leadership questions in a face-to-face setting.

The forum focuses on promoting compassionate care while strengthening relationship between caregiver and the patient. Each forum is lead by a panel of clinicians that present a patient situation and then lead a discussion where caregivers can ask the panelist or other clinicians in attendance questions pertaining to the monthly topic. Previous topics discussed during Schwartz Center Rounds include: The Many Faces of Trauma, Suicide and Sudden Death, and A Hard Gift to Give (focus on organ donation).
