The trauma team utilizes evidence based practices to ensure that the highest quality trauma care is provided to each patient. Through the review of all levels of patient care, the trauma team is able to monitor for areas of opportunity in performance improvement, ensuring that safe, reliable care is provided to all trauma patients. In an effort to keep up with the latest trends in the trauma field, a great emphasis is placed on data and research to explore patterns and make patient care as efficient as possible.

It requires an interdisciplinary team to provide the safest and most effective care to the patient. A successful Trauma Program relies heavily on many areas within the hospital, such as the surgery team, emergency room, intensive care unit and surgical floors. This is what makes Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo a leader in trauma care.
Thanks to an ongoing endowment provided to the Trauma Program by The Kiwanis Foundation, Women & Children’s Hospital has the ability to provide community outreach programs to the Western New York area.
