Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Children's Guild Foundation Autism Spectrum Disorder Center at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo is the only center for medically-based, multidisciplinary evaluation and diagnosis of children with autism spectrum disorders in Western New York.

The Center was established in 2010 with a $585,000 grant from The Children's Guild Foundation, which has provided long standing and significant support for the children and families at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.

The Center takes a team-based approach to evaluation. During one visit, each child receives a developmental, neurological and phychological evaluation. After the visit, the team discusses the child and determines the diagnosis and/or need for any additional testing or services.

The Center has a full time social worker and nurse and offers monthly parent groups, newly diagnosed sessions and information resources and support for children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder and their families.
