Community

As a community, Western New York is a great place to live, as anyone from the area will agree. Housing costs are quite reasonable, the climate is four-season and the people are warm and friendly.  One of the most endearing qualities of Buffalo is the rich ethnic heritage of its people—an ingredient that has had a substantial positive influence on the quality of life here.

Our extensive waterfront offers summer recreational activities and the south towns have excellent winter sports. In addition to over 500 parks and playgrounds, Buffalo has thriving theatre and art districts.  Home of the Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Bisons, Buffalo is also a professional sports lover’s town. Majestic Niagara Falls is a short 20-minute drive and the world-class city of Toronto is just a 90-minute drive to the north.

Educational opportunities abound in Western New York.  There are 17 public and private colleges, as well as the state’s largest university, University at Buffalo.  For those with children, there are strong public school districts less than a 30-minute drive from the hospital.

And there’s more…The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, The Buffalo Museum of Science, the Historical Society, Buffalo Zoo, architectural landmarks, libraries, beautiful homes and estates, and a half-billion dollar light rail rapid transit system makes it all easy to reach!
