The Buffalo Marathon
The Buffalo Marathon will take place Sunday, May 24. For those working or visiting Women & Children’s Hospital that day, it is important to plan extra time for your commute.
As you will see on the map, Delaware, Richmond and Linwood Avenues all will be closed while the marathon is underway. Because of this, it is important that you use Elmwood Avenue to access the hospital. Vehicles will be allowed through the barriers at the intersections of Elmwood & Bidwell and Elmwood & North, or you can use the designated road crossing points at W. Ferry, W. Utica and Bryant.
While we don’t expect the race route to directly impact hospital operations, it may require our visitors and employees to alter their travel to and from the campus that day. If you are an employee and are stopped by a race volunteer, please be sure to identify yourself and show your Kaleida Health identification.
